Physical Therapy

Osteopractic Manipulation

Osteopractic Manipulation involves identification and treatment of stiff joints, whether they be in the spine or extremities, by performing high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) thrust to achieve an audible “pop” in the targeted joint(s). The result is an immediate decrease in pain, increase in circulation, and production of your body’s own pain-killers to the area
Manipulation is safe and effective and can be an integral part of your therapy. Osteopractors are highly trained and tested at the highest levels to perform these techniques.

Dry Needling
Dry Needling involves the insertion of small, monofilament needles into targeted tissues and joints. It can be thought of like acupuncture with a more Western understanding of anatomy and pathophysiology. This treatment helps to relieve tight tissue, promote blood flow to injured tissue, stimulate the nervous system, and aid your body in getting rid of inflammation Needles be be attached to electrical stimulation in which you will feel gentle pulsing or “tapping” sensations, with compounds the effects of the needles and makes your brain create painkillers.
Soft Tissue Mobilization
SOPT offers a wide variety of soft tissue work that helps with reducing tightness and muscular “knots”, reducing inflammation, and promoting blood flow to an area that isn’t healing normally

Techniques include:
–  Instrumented-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (Graston technique)
–  Hands-on manual tissue work and stretching
–  Cupping
–  Body tempering

Headache and Migraines
Headaches comes in many different varieties, intensities, and frequencies. The good news is that many of them are very treatable through work on the cervical spine, postural changes, and strengthening. Migraines are also quite treatable, but also frequently mis-diagnosed by healthcare professionals. We’ll work to accurately classify and treat your headaches, no matter the root cause
Blood Flow Restriction

“BFR” involves wearing a device much like a blood pressure cuff The cuff is inflated and helps to limit blood flow OUT of a muscle while allowing blood to flow IN Increasing blood flow to a muscle allows it to get stronger faster with less force needed BFR works great for post-op patients or those who can’t tolerate a lot of force to a joint

Orthopedic Conditions

Including but not limited to treatment of:
–  Neck and radiating arm pain
–  Back pain and sciatica
–  Shoulder and elbow issues; rotator cuff pathology
–  Carpal tunnel and thumb arthritis
–  Hip and knee pain; bursitis and arthritis
–  Ankle/foot issues; achilles pain, plantar fasciitis

Does your “normal” therapist have a squat rack? Barbells? Free weights? These were the first things SOPT bought because we know strength = health All patients will work on their strength while at SOPT, but for those looking to really up their game to the next level, we’re here for you
